Beschreibung

This book presents the proceedings of the 12th International Scientific Conference on Mobility and Transport (mobil.TUM 2022) held on 57 April 2022 in Singapore and organized by Technical University of Munich Asia. It presents articles in builds on the interdisciplinary approach in mobility and transportation systems for academia and industries. The topics represent the strong synergy between data analytics, new communication concepts, traffic management, modelling, and simulation to enable inspiration from the latest innovations and explore new directions where public transit is headed to meet the rising challenge of rapid urbanization. It caters to researchers and practitioners who have keen interest in the latest development of transportation systems which can sustain the rapid rise in urbanization.

Autor

Constantinos Antoniou is Full Professor in the Chair of Transportation Systems Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He holds Diploma in Civil Engineering from NTUA (1995), M.S. in Transportation (1997), and a Ph.D. in Transportation Systems (2004), both from MIT. His research focuses on modelling and optimization of transportation systems, data analytics, and machine learning for transportation systems, and human factors for future mobility systems. He has a proven track record in attracting competitive funding in both national and international levels. He is/has been PI of several research projects (e.g. H2020 iDREAMS, MOMENTUM, Drive2thefuture, DFG DVanPool, and Trampa). He has authored more than 400 scientific publications, including more than 150 papers in international, peer-reviewed journals, 250 in international conference proceedings, 3 books, and 20 book chapters. He is Member of several professional and scientific organizations, editorialboards (e.g. Deputy Editor-in-Chief of IET Intelligent Transportation Systems; Associate Editor of Transportation ResearchPart A: Policy and Practice, Transportation Letters; Editor of EURO Journal on Transportation and Logistics; Editorial Board Member of Transportation ResearchPart C, Accident Analysis and Prevention, Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Smart Cities).

Fritz Busch is Civil Engineer with diploma and doctorate from Technical University of Karlsruhe. He was elected Full Professor and Director of the chair for traffic engineering and control at Technical University of Munich (TUM) from 2003 until 2019, and now is Emeritus of Excellence, serving at strategic and mobility-related topics. Before academia, he worked 4 years as Consulting Engineer in the transportation and automotive field, and 13 years at Siemens ITS, with his last position being Member of the business units board and Vice President for international products and systems marketing. In his scientific work, he focused on traffic modelling and control for private and public transport, including new forms of active mobility. The different perspectives of mobility actors in the light of emerging technologies, ecological challenges, and changing societal behaviour are fundament for his research in the context of holistic systems thinking. He is Expert in application-oriented transport modelling and control and intelligent transport systems. His research is published in numerous articles as well as presentations. He received the highest German Award in Transport, was Head of the ITS-committee of the German Road Transport Research Association, and Delegate to national and international committees.

Dr. Andreas Rau is Transportation Engineer working at TUM Asia Singapore as Faculty Head and Principal Investigator (Rail, Transport and Logistics). He was Principal Investigator of the Rapid Road Transport Group in TUM CREATE Singapore from 2011 till2021. His significant research experience contributed in public transport planning, development and implementation workshops and research projects funded by public transport authorities and education institutes in Germany and Singapore. With a strong academic and teaching background, he was Founding Director of M.Sc. programmes at TU München and the German Institute of Science and TechnologyTUM Asia, Singapore. He is Frequent Speaker in seminars, conference, and training from all around the world. His research interests are in the areas of public transport planning, especially for developing and emerging countries. This stretches from the network planning, the creation of integrated transport chain to the optimization of bus lines. The scheduling of transit lines for buses and trains, from the design of the timetable till the creation of duties, and rosters for the drivers are also topics covered by His research interests are assessment methods for transport infrastructure and policies for a sustainable transport system development as well.

Mahesh Hariharan is Assistant Faculty Head of Technical University of Munichs Asian campus called TUM Asia, located in Singapore. He holds Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut, India (2014) and Masters in Transport and Logistics from Technical University of Munich (2016). He is pursuing his Ph.D. with TUM in the field ofVehicle-based Condition Monitoring of Ballastless Track Systems on Bridge decks with the help of ANSYS and SIMPACK. In scientific works, his areas of interest include finite element modelling (FEM) of slab tracks and rail infrastructure elements and multi-body simulation of track-vehicle coupling dynamics. Apart from academia, he is responsible for the development of the Masters programme in Rail, Transport, and Logistics offered at TUM Asia by liaising with relevant stakeholders and drafting bespoke training programmes and joint-events with local and overseas partners.
