Although digitization might be considered a driving factor behind Procurement 4.0 it is far too shortsighted to limit Procurement 4.0 solely on tools and automatization. Indeed, no clear vision has yet been developed describing the full meaning and impact of it. In Procurement 4.0, five leading experts provide further insights on how to best face the current and upcoming challenges.Four dimensions of procurement that will address the business needs of the future are further explored: competing value chains, co-creation, leadership and network enablers.Dynamic, interconnected value chains are key factors of sustainable business success, with procurement managed and steered by strategic purchasers in their new role as value chain managers.
