For reasons of demographic changes alone, expertise in geriatric medicine is becoming increasingly important in all areas of clinical care. Prof. Johannes Pantel is a gerontological psychiatrist and head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at the Institute of General Medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main. Prof. Cornelius Bollheimer is an internist, endocrinologist and geriatrician and Director of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at RWTH Aachen University Hospital. Prof. Andreas Kruse is a psychologist and gerontologist and Director of the Institute for Gerontology at the University of Heidelberg. Prof. Johannes Schröder is emeritus professor of Gerontopsychiatry and Clinical Gerontology at the University of Heidelberg and was Head of the Gerontopsychiatry Section and Deputy Director of the University Psychiatric Hospital in Heidelberg. Prof. Cornel Sieber is an internist and geriatrician, Director of the Institute for Biomedicine of Ageing at the University of Erlangen&Nuremberg and Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Cantonal Hospital of Winterthur, Switzerland. Dr. Valentina A. Tesky is a qualified psychologist and deputy head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at the Institute of General Medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main.
